We are delighted that you are considering Henwick Primary School for your child. Henwick is a two form entry school which means that we can welcome 60 children into our Reception classes each year. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we are currently not able to hold tours or open mornings of the school as we would normally. Get help with your application
The Families Information Service (FIS) offers support to parents and carers who may need help with the school admissions process. The service is available to everyone and provides:
- a wide range of information on local primary schools
- support in making informed and realistic preferences
- help in completing the relevant forms
- information about the appeals process.

If there are more applications than places available at a school, the admission authority for the school will use its admission criteria to decide which applicants should be offered a place.
Decisions about offers of places in community schools, such as Henwick Primary School, are the responsibility of the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

Appeal an unsuccessful school application
You have the right to appeal if your child has been refused a place at any school you have applied for. The appeal process depends on the type of school. As we are a maintained school, you must use the Royal Borough of Greenwich’s appeal process.

We offer 52 part time places of 15 hours in the Nursery Classes.
Children can join the Nursery class in the beginning of the term following their third birthday if a place is available. Places are allocated from the waiting list held by the Early Years Foundation Stage Leader following the local authority guidelines for admission. Children are offered 5 sessions of 3 hours during the morning or afternoon. There is no statutory right of appeal for a place in the Nursery class.
Having a place in our Nursery class does not give an automatic entitlement to a place in the Reception class. Parents or carers must apply for a reception place through their Local Authority in the usual way.
